Typography is the art of arranging letters and text in a way that makes the copy legible, clear, and visually appealing to the reader. It involves font style, appearance, and structure, which aims to elicit certain emotions and convey specific messages.
Through this project I was able to explore various typographic concepts, to see what would work best as a font. I approached this project by wanting to explore the Japanese alphabet as well. The modern Japanese writing system uses a combination of logographic kanji, which are adopted Chinese characters, and syllabic kana. I tried to pick out the Kanji symbols which best represented the look of our alphabet. I took it as a very abstract concept but it's different but also explores cultural language.
